Milan Icons have joined Italia T10 Cricket as a franchise for the competition’s inaugural season, scheduled to take place from November 18 to 29, 2026, with Dr Rashid Ali Khan named as the team’s owner.
The Milan-based franchise will represent the Italian city in the new T10 competition, which is preparing for its first season as organizers look to expand the reach of franchise cricket in Italy.
Milan Icons, owned by Dr Rashid Ali Khan, will represent Milan in Italia T10 Cricket’s inaugural season, scheduled for Nov. 18–29, 2026.
According to the announcement, Milan Icons will focus on building a professionally managed team, developing cricketing talent and creating opportunities for players. The franchise also intends to establish a connection with supporters as it prepares to enter the competition.
Dr Khan said the project was intended to extend beyond on-field results, with an emphasis on long-term development and the growth of the game.
“My vision for Milan Icons goes beyond the game itself. I am committed to building a competitive, professionally driven franchise that nurtures talent, creates meaningful opportunities for cricketers, and contributes to the continued growth of cricket globally,” Khan said.
He added that the franchise would be guided by a commitment to professional standards, strong values and sustainable growth, describing his involvement as a long-term undertaking.
Khan also expressed his intention to build a team that could engage supporters and establish a lasting identity within the competition.
The addition of Milan Icons expands the group of franchises preparing for Italia T10 Cricket’s first season. The tournament will use the T10 format, in which each team has a maximum of 10 overs to bat, placing a premium on aggressive scoring, quick decision-making and efficient bowling.
The league is seeking to provide a platform for players to compete in a franchise-based environment while introducing the format to audiences in Italy and beyond. However, further details about Milan Icons’ squad, coaching staff, player recruitment and preparations for the tournament have yet to be announced.
For the Milan franchise, the immediate task will be to assemble a competitive squad and establish its playing structure ahead of the November competition. Its ability to identify suitable players and build a cohesive team will be central to its prospects in the inaugural season.
The announcement comes as Italia T10 Cricket continues preparations for the tournament, with franchise participation forming a key part of the competition’s launch.
Milan Icons will now prepare to represent the city in the 12-day event, with the franchise aiming to establish itself among the teams competing in the new league.
The inaugural season will provide the first opportunity to assess the franchise’s competitiveness and the league’s ability to attract players and audiences. Milan Icons’ participation adds another team to the tournament, as Italia T10 Cricket moves closer to its November start.
